Christoforos E. Economakos is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). His area of expertise is “Automatic Control with OptimizationTechniques”. He has received the Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and the MSc and PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University, USA. He has worked as an engineer for multinational corporations on the design, development and support of prototype applications and pilot projects. He has teaching experience as an Assistant Professor at theDepartment of Automation of  the Technological Education Institution of Halkida, the Department of Automation Engineering of the Technological Education Institution of Central Greece and the General Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has participated in research projects as a researcher and as a principal investigator. His current research interests include performance optimization of industrial controllers, automated design of FPGA-based controllers and path planning and control of autonomous robots and unmanned aerial vehicles.
