Associate Professor
Dr. Stylianos Georganzinos is a faculty member at the rank of Associate Professor in the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology (2023) of the National Aerospace Center of Athens University. He has served as Assistant Professor at the University of Athens (2019-2023), and has worked as a adjunct professor at the Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, University of Patras (2012-2019) and at the Military School of Greece (2014-2018). He teaches courses which fall in the areas of Computational Methods, Strength of Materials, Materials Technology, Engineering Mechanics, Structural Analysis, Mechanical Design and Additive Manufacturing. He received his Diploma in Engineering (2005) and PhD (2010) from the Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, University of Patras, and holds postgraduate degrees in Business Administration (MBA, University of Patras, 2009) and Industrial Management (University of Thessaly, 2007). He has worked as a freelance engineer and as a researcher from 2005 to 2019.
He is the head Laboratory for Advanced Materials, Structures and Digitizatio , with activity in the Analysis and Design of Materials, Structures, Machines and Systems by Computational and Experimental Methods, as well as the Industry 4.0 technologies such as Additive Manufacturing, Digital Twins, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, IoT and their applications in Engineering and Technology. He has authored more than 85 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, 35 book chapters and 55 publications in international conferences. He has developed international research collaborations and received funding from national and European (Horizon Europe) research projects as a scientific leader and/or coordinator in the area of aerospace, advanced materials and structures, additive manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
He is Editor or Guest Editor of International Journals such as Discover Applied Science (Springer Nature) Computers, Materials & Continua (Tech Science), Journal of Composites Science, Mathematical Problems in Engineering, Aerospace, Materials, Applied Sciences, Micromachines, and has served as a member of technical and scientific committees of international conferences. He has co-organized an International Symposium and International Conferences, and has chaired thematic sessions of several International Conferences.
