Applications are now open for the International Summer School in Earth Observation (6–10 July 2026), organised by the Fondazione IRSPS International Research School Planetary Sciences in collaboration with Leonardo.
The Summer School will take place at the Telespazio Fucino Space Centre, home to the Fucino Teleport, one of the world’s largest and most strategic satellite telecommunications facilities.
Participants will have the opportunity to work on topics including:
🛰️ Earth Observation
🌍 Remote sensing and GIS
📡 Optical and SAR satellite data
🤖 AI and downstream applications
📊 Environmental and territorial monitoring
The programme combines lectures, hands-on activities, and interaction with experts from academia and industry working in the space and Earth Observation sectors.
The industrial and operational context makes this initiative particularly unique:
Leonardo is one of Europe’s leading aerospace and high-technology companies;
Telespazio is a major European space operator active in satellite services and space operations;
the Fucino Space Centre represents a strategic hub for satellite communications and space infrastructure.
Places are limited in order to guarantee a highly interactive and hands-on learning experience.
An excellent opportunity for students, PhD candidates, researchers, and young professionals interested in the rapidly evolving Earth Observation and Space Economy sectors.
