Maritsa S. Paschalidis

My four years of study at the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens have been a period of intensive academic and personal growth. The curriculum, combined with my participation in research projects and inter-university initiatives, enabled me to develop a strong scientific foundation and technical skills in satellite missions, LiDAR sensors, and remote sensing technologies. My thesis, which focused on the design of a satellite mission equipped with a LiDAR system for integration into Greece’s C6ISR defense architecture, served as a bridge between academic knowledge and real-world applications in defense and surveillance. At the same time, through internships at institutions such as the Ministry of Digital Governance, the Institute of Plasma Physics and Lasers, AKMON S.A., and the Permanent Representation of Greece to the EU, I engaged directly with the job market and its demands. These experiences significantly strengthened my professional readiness and guided me toward a career path that combines innovation, technology, and applied research in the aerospace sector.
